Experience

Ron grew up on Whidbey Island and was the 3rd generation to graduate from Oak Harbor High School in 1981. He attended Washington State University where he obtained his degree in Agricultural Mechanization in 1986.

Here’s what Ron has been up to throughout his professional life and a little insight into the experiences he has had:

State Senator - District 10

Senator Muzzall serves Whidbey & Camano Islands, and parts of Skagit and North Snohomish Counties. He serves as the ranking member on the Agricultural, Water, Natural resources and Parks Committee, Asst. Ranking member on Health and Long-Term Care, as well as serving on the Rules and Ways and Means committees.

3 Sisters Cattle Company

Land Owner, Farm Manager

Ron currently manages the overall production of forage and grains as well as the production of beef, hogs, sheep, and poultry. In 2002 Ron and his wife Shelly, transitioned their commodity agriculture farm to direct marketing to the general public.

Ron is currently the general manager with oversight of direct marketing, human resources, marketing strategy, inventory management, and product development.

Ron and Shelly in partnership with his parents owned and managed a commercial dairy farm that included a feed and cropping operation, and also raised vegetable seed crops. They exited the dairy business in 2006 to concentrate on direct marketing of 3 Sisters Family Farms

Ron was elected to corporate board for this farmer owned Fortune 200 Company which specialized in crop protectant, seed, animal feed, agricultural technology and consumer products. Ron represented region five which represented nine western states. He also served on the board performance, governance, audit, and political action committees.

Ron was elected both as Vice President and President in strategic growth and general management transition on the board of Skagit Farmers Supply. This farmer owned company with sales of over 100 million+ which represents 140 producer members in the Skagit County area.

North Whidbey Fire & Rescue

Commissioner

Ron spent 20 years with North Whidbey Fire and Rescue. As a firefighter, officer and 11 years as an elected fire commissioner. This time was a significant growth period with a combination of multiple departments transitioning into a single department with one chief and phased response.

Ron has been a lifelong member at Oak Harbor Lutheran Church and has served on council and various committees over the years. He has been Vice President and has held multiple terms as President.
